Description
Sasquatch is Canada's first patented, proprietary hop variety. It is called Sasquatch due to the rugged mountain terrain that it was found in as well as the massive hop cones that it produces.
Sasquatch is a dual-purpose variety which can be used as an addition anywhere throughout the brewing process including: bittering (boil), late boil, whirlpool and dry-hop additions. It produces unique orange, tea, lemon and citrus notes.
It is suggested that pairing Sasquatch can help accentuate some of the flavours. Pairing with Citra, Cascade, Centennial or Mandarina Bavaria will result in a more orange-forward flavour. Whereas, pairing with Amarillo or Perle will accentuate the soft floral tea flavours.
This variety is ideal for a wide varieties of beer styles including lagers, wheats, IPA's and NEIPA's. It is best to pair this with another hop variety if brewing a big hop-forward style such as an IPA or NEIPA.
